Recipe: Butter Chicken

4 Persons

Ingredients:

5 tomatoes
4 garlic cloves
1 large onion
2 tablespoon garam masala
2 tablespoon curry masala
2 tablespoons curry madras
2 tablespoon cumin powder
2 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoon ginger powder
2 tablespoons turmeric
1 piece of ginger as big as your thumb
200ml coconut milk
500 g chicken breast
4 tablespoons TESMI, seasoned ghee

Materials:

  • cutting board
  • Wok or frying pan
  • Blender
  • Sieve

Preparation method:

1.⁠ ⁠Cut the chicken into finger-sized pieces.
2.⁠ ⁠⁠Marinate the chicken in 1 tablespoon of each of the above spices.
3.⁠ ⁠⁠Fry the chicken in 2 tablespoons of TESMI seasoned ghee until it turns brown.
4.⁠ ⁠⁠Set the chicken aside for a moment
5. In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of TESMI seasoned ghee
6.⁠ ⁠Chop the onion to a size of your choice. Add it to the pan and fry until golden brown.
7.⁠ ⁠⁠Add 4 pressed garlic cloves and stir well.
8.⁠ ⁠Add 1 tablespoon of all the herbs and mix well for 1 minute.
9.⁠ ⁠⁠Peel and chop the ginger and add it to the pan.
10.⁠ ⁠⁠Chop the tomatoes and add them. Fry until the tomatoes have softened.
11.⁠ ⁠⁠Add the coconut milk and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
12.⁠ ⁠⁠Take everything out of the pan and blend it in a blender. Sieve the mixture before putting it back in the pan.
13.⁠ ⁠⁠Let it stand for 2 minutes and then add the cooked chicken. Then let it stand together again for 10 minutes.
14.⁠ ⁠⁠Add salt to taste
15.⁠ ⁠⁠Garnish with mint or coriander and serve with rice, naan, paratha or roti!
